Artist and educator, graduated in plastic arts with a specialization in drawing from UFRGS. In 2014, he completed his post-doctorate at UDESC, Florianópolis, where he collaborated with a biologist and an agronomist to investigate the associations between agroecology and site-specific, with an emphasis on agroforestry. Menna Barreto brings site-specific practices from a South American and critical perspective, having given classes, lectures and written extensively on the subject. In 2016, he participated in the 32 Bienal de São Paulo, where he showed his award-winning project Restauro: a restaurant that operated from a complex network of environmental regeneration in collaboration with agroforestry of the MST in the state of São Paulo. The project traveled to Serpentine Galleries in London, 2017, where he worked collaborated with a specialist in unconventional food plants (PANC), a botanical illustrator and local organic producers.
